Die 1980 in New York, NY gegründete Band ‹The Holmes Brothers› hat insgesamt 10 Blues-Alben veröffentlicht. The Holmes Brothers besteht derzeit aus den Band-Mitgliedern Popsy Dixon, Sherman Holmes und Wendell Holmes. Dabei wurde die Gruppe von verschiedenen Künstlern und Bands wie bspw. Sam Cooke, George Jones und Hank Williams beeinflusst. Der Musikstil von The Holmes Brothers erinnert an ähnliche Blues-Bands, wie James Carr, The Staple Singers oder Ted Hawkins.
